The Opportunity
General Bank of Canada is looking for a permanent, fulltime Project Manager to join as a key contributor with the Bank’s Data, Technology & Innovation team. Consistent with the growth trajectory of the Bank, this is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to contribute to building the Bank of the future with considerable potential for learning, growth, and advancement.
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the successful delivery of organizational projects. Acting as both Project Manager and Scrum Master, this role leverages both agile and traditional project delivery methodologies to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage project timelines, and drive progress toward objectives. The Project Manager serves as a key liaison between stakeholders, ensuring alignment of project goals with organizational priorities and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Position Responsibilities

Lead agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring adherence to Scrum principles and practices.

Develop, maintain, and monitor project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring the project remains on track to meet milestones and deliverables.

Work closely with various business units, stakeholders, and third-party consultants, contractors, and vendors to align project objectives and resolve any conflicts or challenges.

Identify, document, and mitigate project risks, ensuring proactive strategies to address potential obstacles.

Planning and coordinating change management efforts to ensure effective implementation, stakeholder engagement, and successful adoption of project goals and outcomes.

Track and report on project key performance indicators (KPIs), providing transparent updates to leadership and stakeholders on project status, achievements, and issues.

Foster a culture of feedback and adaptability by implementing lessons learned into future project phases.

Support project teams by facilitating communication, addressing impediments, and ensuring project goals are met through effective collaboration.
What You Bring to the Table
Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or a related field.

Experience: 5+ years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years focused on agile practices in technology-driven projects.

Skills: Expertise in both traditional and agile project delivery, proficiency in project management and collaboration tools (MS project, Azure DevOps, Jira, etc.).

Experience in Technology Project Management and exposure to Financial Services
Preferred Qualifications

Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification preferred.
