Role Introduction
The Direct Retail Sales Analyst is responsible for analysing sales performance and user behaviour data in Cathay-owned channels and providing data driven insights to support maximising online traffic and revenue generation. This role supports the direct retail team and the broader commercial teams in executing our overall commercial strategy, as well as the reporting and analysis required to deliver on regional direct sales objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Drive Data-Driven Retail Excellence

Proactively collect and interpret daily, weekly and monthly channel data using all data tools available to provide consultancy and challenge to the direct retail team to ensure the direct channels are properly monitored, with areas of improvement highlighted.

Analyse and identify performance trends, historical patterns, and target customer segments in the direct channel to highlight gaps and opportunities to local and head office teams.

Translate trends, patterns and opportunities into actionable items for the regional digital sales team

Working alongside channel specialists, the regional leadership team, and regional direct retail team, conduct ad-hoc studies on potential new business needs and newly identified market challenges.

Define optimal regional data collection, reporting and analytical processes in close collaboration with regional business development team.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement with a focus on providing solutions and delivering results.

Be an expert on the suite of data analysis tools available to Cathay Pacific and mentor the wider team on their application and use.

Conduct comprehensive regional level analytics and proactively identify synergies between direct sales channel data and broader Cathay Pacific performance data/metrics.

Conduct tracking and measurement of direct channel KPIs and socialize to the broader team.

Conduct other reporting and analysis as required.

Support direct retail campaign activities for the region as needed
E&A responsibility
- Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required
Requirements
Academic Qualifications
- Post-Secondary Diploma / Certificate or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required
Knowledge, skills, training and experience
- 5+ years of experience, preferably in aviation, travel, tourism but not essential.
- 2+ years of ecommerce or marketing data analysis
- Expert knowledge of Excel and Google Analytics
- Expert numeric and statistical analysis skills are essential.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
- Superior problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Adobe Analytics, QlikView and QlikSense advantageous, but not required
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office suite including Teams, Word, PowerPoint
- Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (or any CMS) and Salesforce Marketing Cloud advantageous, but not required
- Demonstrable experience in working in a campaign environment, understand timing and rollout in relation to timely reporting
- Comfortable with a test and learn approach with a focus on continuous improvement
- Good presentation, forward planning and time management skills
- Must be self-driven with a passion for data analysis.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with an ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences across our global team
Additional Requirements
- Must successfully pass reference checks
- Must be willing and able to sit for long periods of time
- Must be willing and able to travel within North America, if required
- Must have the permanent legal right to live and work in Canada
