ABOUT THE ROLE
As a member of the Portable Crushing team, the Maintenance/Labourer is responsible for the daily maintenance activity and management for their specific area. The Maintenance position will execute the daily tasks required to maintain the conveyors, crushers, screens, wash plants and related mobile equipment in accordance with Amrize’s Best Practices and Policies. The incumbent will implement internal processes and controls to drive maintenance efficiency and cost optimization while ensuring worker/contractor safety through compliance with Amrize and Provincial Safety legislation, policies and procedures. This position requires shift work (Days/Afternoons/Nights) and occasional weekend work. Travel with the portable plants as required.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
Perform road and ramp maintenance (grading, sanding, berming, snow plowing). Execute equipment maintenance and repair as required to ensure portable plant equipment runs efficiently. Maintain overall site housekeeping, including fences, signs, and litter control. Implement and lead Amrize safety standards, ensuring and supporting good safety behaviors for customers, contractors, and employees. Manage dust control and speed control across the site. Ensure daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections regarding preventative maintenance actions are scheduled and completed. Perform adjustments and clean up on equipment to ensure equipment runs efficiently. Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the site. Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High School Diploma. Valid Driver’s license. Required Work Experience: Industrial/Aggregate plant maintenance and operation experience. Heavy mobile equipment operation experience is an asset. Required Technical Skills: First Aid, WHMIS, Surface Miner training, Confined space training, Working-at-heights training, Mechanical aptitude / extensive manual labor tasks, and Specific mobile equipment training. Travel Requirements: Required as plant moves.
Additional Requirements
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
