We are currently looking for a Development Executive – AI Screenwriting & Project Development to be based in our Montreal office.
Location: Hybrid (Remote & On-Site)
Position Type: Full-Time / Contract Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience (To be discussed)
About the Role
We are seeking a visionary, tech-forward Development Executive to spearhead our next generation of TV movies. If you are passionate about the art of commercial storytelling—specifically Rom-Coms, Thrillers, and procedural dramas—and are genuinely excited about the future of AI-augmented screenwriting, this role is for you. In this position, you won't just give traditional script notes; you will actively champion, refine, and scale our development pipeline using cutting-edge AI screenwriting suites. Your core mission is an relentless pursuit of quality: utilizing modern AI tools not just for speed, but to build increasingly better movies with richer arcs, tighter pacing, and highly engaging hooks.
Key Responsibilities
Pipeline Management: Oversee the development of a robust slate of TV movies from concept to production-ready draft, focusing on high-demand genres like Rom-Coms and Thrillers. AI Co-Writing & Prompt Engineering: Collaborate directly with AI tools to generate story beats, character profiles, dialogue passes, and structural outlines. Curation & Continuity: Act as the human "creative compass"—massaging AI-generated outputs to inject deep emotional resonance, sharp humor, and structural integrity. Prompt Collaboration: Guide writers and internal teams on how to effectively integrate AI tools into their creative workflows without sacrificing voice or originality. Coverage & Analytics: Utilize platform data, automated script breakdown tools, and AI coverage to evaluate project feasibility, pacing, and genre-specific beats.
Qualifications & Experience
Development Background: 3+ years of experience as a Development Executive, Story Editor, or Creative Executive in TV or film (experience with MOWs/TV movies is highly preferred). Genre Expertise: A deep, intuitive understanding of the tropes, structural beats, and audience expectations of Rom-Coms and Thrillers. AI Tool Proficiency: Hands-on experience or deep familiarity with specialized generative narrative suites such as FinalBit, Storyflow, and Paper Knowledge (or equivalent AI storyboards/LLM platforms) is a major plus. The Right Mindset: An enthusiastic, proactive attitude toward ethical and creative AI implementation. You view AI as an incredible superpower for human writers, not a replacement for human soul. Communication: Exceptional editing and communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between creative storytelling and technical AI prompt iteration.
