POSITION Worksite: Imagine High Integrated Arts & Technology Secondary

Contract Type: Temporary, Full-Time

Assignment Area(s): Grade 9-12 Math, Careers and Technology Electives (Digital Media, ADST)

Salary Range: $59,711 to $109,520 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement)

Effective Date: Immediately until not later than June 30, 2026

Required Abilities, Qualifications And Experience

  • Extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching in all areas of this assignment.
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrated application of, the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement teaching practices that align with the Professional Standards for BC Educators.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement and assess inquiry/project based/experiential learning that explores and connects big ideas and concepts across disciplines, and allows access points for learners with differing abilities, interests and needs (inclusive planning and UDL) and culminates in authentic demonstrations, artifacts, performances or exhibitions of learning
  • Demonstrated ability to plan inclusively using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to allow multiple access points for learners with differing abilities, interests, and needs
  • Demonstrated ability to design/implement/assess Project Based Learning (PBL) that explores and connects Big Ideas and concepts across disciplines
  • Demonstrated interest, aptitude, or experience in fine arts, applied arts, media arts, or technology
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate authentic demonstrations, artifacts, performances, or exhibitions of learning that embed art and technology and allow for student voice and choice
  • Commitment and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team in the implementation of the school and district 4 Pillars of Integrated Arts and Technology (Integrated Disciplines; Collaborative Culture; Authentic Learning; Visionary Staff)
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate/co-plan/co-teach with teaching partner(s) to deliver integrated studies deliver multiple streams of the Math 9-12 (Foundations, Workplace, Pre-Calculus)
  • A demonstrated ability to teach math in a progressive, experiential way, utilizing vertical surfaces and collaborative practices.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience to effectively teach secondary Career Education and demonstrated understanding of the Career Life Education/Career Life Connections Curriculum
  • Demonstrated extensive academic training, professional preparation, experience and qualifications in teaching Technology (ADST, Digital Media Arts ).
  • Demonstrated ability to use a variety of instructional and assessment practices to meet the diverse needs of all learners and that effectively allow students to demonstrate their learning.
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to Indigenizing curriculum using the First Peoples Principles of Learning.
  • Demonstrated experience intervening, supporting, and motivating struggling learners, including through a Response to Intervention (RTI) lens.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize and acknowledge individual student differences and adjust instructional practices accordingly through informal adaptations and formal Competency Based Individual Education Plans (CBIEP's).
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to support students through a variety of social/emotional strategies and trauma informed practices.
  • Demonstrated desire and ability to collaborate with staff, parents and other professionals to contribute to general school effectiveness and individual student learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective classroom procedures and incorporate a wide range of effective classroom management strategies which respect and maintain the dignity of students.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity, awareness and understanding of adolescent development and enthusiasm for working with and developing positive relationships with students.
  • Proven ability to inspire confidence and self-worth in adolescents.
  • Commitment to becoming involved and positively contributing to the culture of the school.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with students, staff, and parents.
