Job Description:

  • This role is a one year contract**

The Director, Strategy is a key position within Sun Life Health. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Strategy, Digital Enterprise, and Sponsor Enablement, the Director will be accountable for providing business support and consulting services to enable the current and evolving health strategy for SL Canada, coordination of cross-business efforts to achieve key objectives, and engagement of internal and external partners and stakeholders. In addition, this role is accountable for planning and facilitating meetings and supporting the business with OKRs. Finally, this role will assume leadership of projects as appropriate.

What will you do?

  • Facilitate the evolution, maintenance and communication of the Sun Life Health strategy aligned with Sun Life Canada and broad Sun Life strategies.
  • Develop and execute strategy projects in collaboration with SL Health leaders
  • Monitor external trends and competitive threats and assess impact on our business and strategy
  • Ensure key stakeholder groups and leaders are aligned with respect to understanding the strategy, key messages/philosophies, and business processes.
  • Identify, develop and maintain relevant BU metrics (OKRs) that connect key strategic elements to key initiatives and key outcomes.
  • Partner with analytics teams, BUs and others to deliver the health metrics scorecard.
  • Partner with Communications, where appropriate, to ensure clear and compelling internal communications within Sun Life Health that are aligned with business strategies helping employees connect the work they do with Sun Life Health.
  • As needed, organize, facilitate, document, and manage various internal forums and meetings.
  • When applicable, overall accountability for the successful delivery of overarching Sun Life Health initiatives.

  • As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
