Position Summary Manager, Health Information Management This position requires an innovative individual with a proven ability to successfully implement change. The manager will play an integral role in planning, developing, implementing, organizing, and evaluating the coding, and scanning services in Health Records. In addition, the manager will be responsible to establish an enterprise data quality framework and structure that enables the capture of reliable information to support patient care and strategic decision making.This role involves coordinating with other departments to ensure data integrity and optimizing systems for storing, retrieving, and analysing patient information. The role is responsible for training staff on best practices in data management and conducting audits to maintain data accuracy. By maintaining high standards for data quality, they help healthcare providers make informed decisions, ultimately improving patient care.

On a practical level, you will

  • Solid understanding of NACRS , DAD, CMG, RIW, and HBAM funding methodologies and the impact these have on hospital funding

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in a clinical or administrative stream (preferred)
  • Baccalaureate degree in a clinical or administrative stream in health information management or related field
  • Certified with the Canadian College for Health Information Management (CHIM)
  • Professional membership with the International Privacy Professional Association (IAPP) preferred
  • Professional membership with the International Privacy Professional Association (IAPP) preferred.
