Our mission is to bring smart cloud device solutions to the masses - future proofing assets, helping lower global GHG emissions, saving energy, and improving quality and comfort of life.
You are customer focused, doing what’s right for the customer and ensuring an outstanding quality of service. Using your passion for clean energy, technology and people, you will help the Okos team improve the safety, security, accessibility and comfort of our customers' businesses and homes. As part of an entrepreneurial team, you can expect to work in an exciting, collaborative and supportive environment.
Okos is an equal-opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer. We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, or gender identity.
Job Description
The Head of Installations will lead a coast-to-coast installations operation for commercial security projects. This role requires a master of detail, fluent in the language of physical security and oversee a team of project coordinators to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery. The ideal candidate is as comfortable coaching project managers as guiding high-profile clients through obstacles—always with a calm, solutions-first approach when projects face adversity.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Oversight: Provide end-to-end leadership for all installation projects, ensuring delivery is on schedule, within scope, and aligned with contractual standards and client expectations.
- Team Leadership: Directly supervise and mentor a team of project coordinators and managers and installation staff, supporting their professional development and holding them accountable for project outcomes.
- Client & PM Liaison: Act as the senior point of contact for both project managers and major clients, facilitating transparent communication, rapid problem resolution, and ensuring a seamless client experience.
- Budget & Timeline Management: Maintain meticulous oversight of project budgets, schedules, milestones, and KPIs to guarantee profitability and flawless execution.
- Issue Resolution: Proactively identify risks, respond decisively to project crises, troubleshoot technical and resource challenges, and put out “fires” to keep projects on track and clients satisfied.
- Quality & Compliance: Uphold the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, documentation, and installation best practices across all engagements.
- Continuous Improvement: Review and refine installation processes, integration practices, and reporting mechanisms to drive efficiency and margin improvement across the division.
Qualifications
- Proven Leadership: 5+ years overseeing large-scale electronic security or life-safety installation projects, with at least 3 years managing project managers or equivalent supervisory experience.
- Physical Security Expertise: Deep knowledge of security technologies, including CCTV, access control, alarms, and integrated systems; vendor management and hands-on installation experience a plus.
- Detail Orientation: Track record of flawless, detail-heavy execution across complex, high-volume projects.
- Crisis Management: Demonstrated ability to resolve project setbacks, conflicting priorities, or emergencies calmly and quickly in a leadership capacity.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills, equally effective in C-suite boardrooms, with project teams, and on project sites.
- Process Discipline: Skilled in documentation, budgeting, timeline and deliverable tracking with a process-driven mindset.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, electronics, or a business/technical field preferred; equivalent progressive experience considered.
