Job Description
Senior NetSuite Solution Architect Position Summary The Senior NetSuite Solution Architect is responsible for leading the functional architecture, solution governance, and overall design strategy of complex NetSuite ERP implementations. This role serves as the senior advisor throughout the implementation lifecycle, ensuring that business requirements are translated into scalable, secure, and maintainable enterprise solutions aligned with NetSuite leading practices. Working closely with executive stakeholders, project leadership, finance teams, and implementation consultants, the Solution Architect provides strategic guidance on financial system design, integrations, data migration, reporting architecture, and implementation governance to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture Design and validate enterprise NetSuite solution architecture. Define scalable financial system structures that support organizational reporting and operational requirements. Review Chart of Accounts, General Ledger architecture, custom segments, classifications, and financial dimensions. Ensure solution designs follow NetSuite leading practices while minimizing unnecessary customizations. Evaluate technical and functional design decisions to ensure long-term scalability and maintainability. Recommend architectural improvements that optimize system performance and business processes.
Financial Systems Design
Lead the architecture of complex financial management solutions within NetSuite. Validate accounting structures, financial controls, approval workflows, and reporting frameworks. Ensure financial processes align with accounting standards, audit requirements, and internal governance. Advise stakeholders on best practices for financial operations and ERP optimization.
Integration Architecture
Define integration strategies between NetSuite and third-party enterprise applications. Review API architecture, middleware strategies, and system interoperability. Validate data mappings and transaction flows across integrated platforms. Collaborate with technical teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure integrations.
Data Migration & Reporting Strategy
Develop data migration strategies for enterprise ERP implementations. Oversee data validation, reconciliation, and migration quality assurance. Ensure historical financial data is accurately migrated and reconciled. Support enterprise reporting strategies and analytics architecture. Promote data governance and data quality throughout the implementation lifecycle.
Implementation Governance
Provide architectural oversight throughout project execution. Participate in solution reviews, design workshops, and executive steering meetings. Identify implementation risks and recommend mitigation strategies. Ensure implementation deliverables align with project objectives and quality standards. Support production readiness planning, cutover activities, and post-go-live stabilization.
Quality Assurance & Testing
Define testing strategies for financial and operational business processes. Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning and execution. Review test results and ensure critical business scenarios are validated. Ensure solution quality prior to production deployment.
Stakeholder Leadership
Serve as the trusted advisor for executive leadership and business stakeholders. Translate complex business requirements into enterprise solution strategies. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between business and technical teams. Present architectural recommendations and implementation strategies to senior leadership. Mentor consultants and provide architectural guidance throughout project delivery.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of NetSuite implementation experience. 5+ years serving as a Solution Architect, Principal Consultant, or Enterprise Architect. Proven experience leading enterprise-scale NetSuite Financial implementations. Deep expertise in NetSuite Financials, General Ledger, financial reporting, and accounting architecture. Strong understanding of enterprise ERP design principles and implementation governance. Experience designing complex financial system architectures. Experience leading enterprise data migration and reconciliation strategies. Hands-on experience designing REST API integrations and enterprise system interoperability. Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to balance business objectives with technical and architectural best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
NetSuite ERP Consultant Certification. NetSuite SuiteFoundation Certification. NetSuite Financial User Certification. CPA, MBA, or equivalent accounting and finance background. Experience within nonprofit, higher education, financial services, healthcare, or other complex accounting environments. Experience with enterprise reporting, analytics platforms, and business intelligence solutions. Familiarity with CRM, data warehouse, and cloud integration architectures.
