Position Summary
Strike is hiring an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team in Fort Saskatchewan.
LOCATION/DETAILS
Candidates must be local to the Fort Saskatchewan area
Core Accountabilities
This role requires strong analytical skills, specialized E&I knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Reviews proposal specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and required content of the estimate.
Develop full project estimates across lump sum, unit rate, and T&M contracts
Provides input regarding estimating strategies including profitability, risk management, execution strategy, and costs. Consults with other departments to ensure labour, equipment and materials reflect current pricing, construction costs and timelines. Participate in bid reviews, clarifications, and post-tender discussions with clients Attend site visits as required.
Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers
Review subcontractor/supplier bids and support negotiations and award recommendations Prepares and presents estimate plans, estimate schedules, man-hour budgets and fulfills all required deliverables to provide an exceptional overall bid proposal.
Qualifications
Education
Journeyperson Electrician with a minimum of 3 years of electrical estimating experience
Experience
Industrial electrical field experience is preferred. Experience in scheduling is an asset. Extensive experience interpreting drawing packages.
Electrical estimating experience
Instrumentation knowledge is an asset. Experience working with Accubid estimating software. Strong MS Office skills, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
Blubeam software experience
Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities
Exceptional time-management skills. Able to prioritize and execute multiple tasks quickly. Thrives in a busy, deadline-oriented environment. Strong knowledge of electrical codes, instrumentation, and industrial installation practices.
Exceptional attention to detail. Good problem solver and critical thinker
Self-starter with the ability to learn quickly and be resourceful. Self-motivated, coachable, and a positive team contributor. Able to work in a team environment or independently. Outstanding customer service skills.
Understanding and knowledge of scheduling is an asset
Able to work well under pressure. Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work.
