ABOUT THE POSITION

Pineapple Hall and Needs Must Café is looking for Guest Service Attendants/Baristas to fill out our team on a part-time basis. As a Guest Service Attendant/Barista you will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service while preparing and serving a variety of beverages. You will be responsible for several functions including, but not limited to, taking orders, guiding guests through the menu and providing recommendations as well as preparing hot and cold beverages, and restocking supplies and greeting customers. Customer service skills and knowledge of brewing equipment is considered an asset. If you are passionate about customer service and creating great customer experiences this opportunity is for you! Must have availability early mornings (6 am start) to 6 pm on weekdays.

Needs Must Café located within Pineapple Hall, is one of the newest additions into the Concorde Group Family. This cozy quaint cafe will resemble the Concorde brand but with its own twist. From locally ground coffee beans to freshly prepared fruits for our smoothies, you can expect there to be something on the menu for everyone.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

    • Take customer orders and payments and process through our POS system.
    • Prepare and serve beverages such as coffee, tea, smoothies and other specialty beverages.
    • Pay close attention to details when customers are ordering their preferences.
    • Ensure the highest level of hygiene and food safety is adhered to by all personnel in the preparation and handling of food items.
    • Ensure that the venue is always maintained at the highest level of cleanliness.
    • Ensure all food products are stored in appropriate containers and labeled to minimize waste, maximize quality, and ensure freshness.
    • Consistently conduct yourself in a professional and positive manner when greeting customers.
    • Aid in meeting and exceeding department objectives.
    • Motivate fellow staff and encourage high self-esteem and efficiency in the workplace.
    • Respond in a positive, budget-conscious, and timely manner to all internal and external guest requests and complaints.
    • Adhere to all policies and guidelines, checklists, prep sheets, and par sheets, as assigned.
    • Accurately follow all reporting procedures for accidents and incidents in the workplace.
    • Perform other related ad-hoc duties as required to support team operations.

WHAT YOU HAVE

    • Previous work in the hospitality – previous barista experience preferred (1-2 years)
    • Experience with using a POS system.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Flexibility to work various shifts.
    • Great multi-tasking skills.
    • Strong English communication skills.
    • Basic Math skills.
    • Ability to maintain composure, professionalism, and ensure coworkers are supported in difficult and stressful situations.
    • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and can lift up to 50lbs.
    • Required to hold or obtain upon hire the following certifications: ProServe and Alberta Health Services Food Safety Training.
