Role:
The purpose of this job is to oversee, coordinate and ensure the efficient and timely delivery of Sysco products to customers by Sysco Delivery Colleagues (DAs), or Contractors (where applicable).
Role Responsibilities:
- Supervise the daily work and safety of delivery associates, including adherence to standard operating procedures, adherence to planned routes, and providing safe and efficient customer service.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with all government regulations relating to transportation and safety including MOT, OHS and EPA requirements.
- Analyzes live and historical data to ensure accuracy for maintaining optimal delivery plans and on time customer service.
- Supervises labor hours and directs labor activities to stay within budget. Recommend work schedules including stop changes, classification changes, customer open/close times, window expectations and provides to appropriate person for necessary changes.
- Supervises the proper selection & utilization of company assets in support of the delivery department.
- Reviews delivery productivity reporting to appropriate supervisor for review and determination. Suggest efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures and assist with implementation of delivery changes.
- Participate in trouble shooting and problem-solving issues related to DA questions and product deliveries.
- Communicates with Sales Management and SC’s via e-mail and maintains current communications board data to collaboratively resolve any customer or delivery opportunities or issues.
- Work with Sales to identify customer requirements, including addressing delivery concerns, customer special needs such as night drops, vehicle constraints, dock issues, etc.
- Communicates proactively with drivers and directs activities to ensure successful adherence to daily delivery schedules and departmental performance goals and overtime objectives.
- Work closely with Warehouse operations with regards to safe loading requirements, safe transportation of goods, etc.
- Assist in maximizing efficiencies of Roadnet routing system.
- Coordinates efforts with Transportation Supervisors and with EHS to ensure consistent training.
- If applicable, understand and interpret the CBA, participate in grievance, mediation, and arbitration procedures at unionized facilities.
- Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
- Understands that their role is critical in creating a safe organization with minimal environmental impact and the value that brings to the organization.
- Ability to utilize and create reporting. Create specific ad hoc reports to identify areas for improvements. Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements (About you):
- Minimum three (3) years of work experience is required.
- 3+ years of experience working in a transportation or distribution role with supervisory experience is preferred.
- A High School Diploma is required.
- Bilingual in English and French is required (Daily communication with sites in English-speaking provinces only)
- Any relevant training in the transportation and distribution profession along with any additional continuing education in industry topics is a plus.

Role:
