##Summary
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to deliver solutions that enhance Finance efficiencies and insights. In this role, you will blend technical, Business Intelligence, and Finance expertise to build tools that improve reporting speed and accuracy—empowering Finance Operations to better analyze, predict, and optimize business results. You will develop solutions that combine, transform, analyze, and share financial results and performance KPIs, leveraging large datasets to drive actionable insights.
This role offers exposure to Finance, Data Engineering, BI, and visualization, using modern enterprise technologies to evaluate operational strategies and forecast financial impacts.You will also communicate with senior Finance leaders and champion the Finance DEAI vision, ensuring the delivery of accurate, high‑value information to key stakeholders whether working independently or leading a team.
##Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
- Assemble large, complex datasets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements.
- Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from a wide variety of sources using SQL and big data technologies.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, including automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and re-designing infrastructure for scalability.
- Develop analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business metrics.
- Create data tools for analytics and data science teams that assist them in building and optimizing our product.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
- Partner with data and analytics experts to continuously improve the functionality and performance of our data systems.
##Critical Qualifications
- 5+ years of senior experience working with complex datasets within the telecom industry.
- Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field.
- Advanced knowledge of business wireline products (e.g., NAS, Internet, Broadband/IP).
- Deep understanding of wireline ordering and provisioning systems, such as BCRIS, CSM, EOM, NIBS, SingleView, RevChain, and HOTS.
- GCP Expertise: Strong proficiency with core Google Cloud Platform data services, including BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer.
- Database & Scripting: Advanced knowledge of SAS (specifically PROC SQL) and experience working with relational databases.
- Teradata: Expert-level knowledge of Teradata stored procedures.
- Strategic Leadership: Proven business acumen with the ability to influence stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor to senior management.
##Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in SQL and practical experience with Python for scripting, automation, and pipeline development. Familiarity with object-oriented languages (Java, C++, Scala) is an asset.
- Experience with big data tools (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and cloud computing solutions.
- Experience with Alteryx, SAS Enterprise Guide (EG), SQL Assistant, MS Office, and GCP.
- Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools.
- Ability to build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
- Experience performing root cause analysis on internal/external data and processes to identify improvement opportunities.
- Strong analytical skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
- Knowledge of SAP
Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
