About the role
We are seeking committed and skilledHeavy Equipment Operatorsto join our team for the upcoming 2026 season, primarily located in the Edmonton area. Our fleet consists mainly of CAT equipment, well-maintained and equipped to handle various tasks. Operators are required for:
-Excavators -Loaders -Skid-Steers -Graders (GPS experience preferred) -Dozers (GPS experience preferred)
Please note - These positions will start in April 2026, with the exact start date being weather dependent. All Operators will undergo an in person Competency and Evaluation by our HEO Trainer at the Wilco Contractors Training Facility, prior to receiving a full time offer and starting work.
The Heavy Equipment Operators will be responsible for:
- Performing pre-operation inspections and completing necessary maintenance checks on heavy machinery.
- Operating heavy equipment safely and effectively to complete grading, excavating, and other tasks as required.
- Engaging in direct communication with team members and supervisors to ensure project needs are met.
- Working collaboratively in diverse and dynamic environments while adhering to safety protocols.
- Basic understanding of survey/layout required.
- Capable of operating under numerous and varied job site situations.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3+ years experience operating heavy equipment.
- Experience operating multiple types of machinery is considered an asset.
- Ability to perform finish grading and interpret survey stakes accurately.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Capable of adapting to varying job site conditions and challenges.
- Must hold a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
- CSTS and Ground Disturbance certification are a condition of employment.
