About the role
The Inventory Associate is responsible for completing periodic inventory cycle counts, managing and maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring efficient and timely inventory movements, monitoring stock levels, adjusting Assembly or Pick orders to accurately control inventory usage, and supporting the overall inventory management process. This role involves working closely with various departments to ensure inventory accuracy and availability across both live and hardgoods.
This is a temporary full time contract for approximately 10 months.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory Control
Conduct regular weekly, monthly and periodic inventory counts;
Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records;
Collect and record inventory movements where required;
Coordinate with various internal departments to ensure timely availability of inventory items;
Perform adjustments to stock levels reconciling discrepancies.
Data Entry
Accurately enter inventory data into the inventory management system, updating records as required;
Assist in processing, updating and changing Assembly or Pick orders to ensure proper fulfilment of inventory for growing, picking, packing, and shipping items;
Generate and analyze inventory reports to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement;
General Responsibilities
Assist in receiving and organizing inventory items where required;
Ensure proper labeling of inventoried items and bin locations;
QUALIFICATIONS
Post-secondary degree/diploma in Business Administration or a related field or equivalent work experience;
Prior experience in inventory control an asset;
Greenhouse operations experience an asset.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and identify discrepancies;
Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently;
Effective verbal and written communication skills;
Collaborative, team-oriented approach to identify, communicate and resolve inventory-related issues promptly;
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision;
Technical aptitude to navigate ERP system (MS Dynamics Business Central);
Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word programs).
