Job Description RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Position Summary We are recruiting a Clinical Research Clerk to join the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the Montreal Children's Hospital. Our emergency department cares for sick and injured children, while conducting research projects and surveillance of vaccine-preventable illnesses to improve patient care and public health. The incumbent will work under the supervision of clinician-scientist Dr. Burstein and report to the research coordinator. We are looking for a motivated, organized and enthusiastic person to join our dynamic team in 2 primary areas of research, Surveillance Program for Rapid Identification and Tracking of infectious diseases in KIDS (SPRINT KIDS and the Febrile Young Infant Research Program)
More specifically, the incumbent will be responsible for entering data into databases and controlling the quality of data obtained from various primary sources (medical records, questionnaires, administrative data, laboratory data), performing telephone follow-up of participants, approaching families to participate in clinical research, and the collection and transport of research samples.
General Duties
- Responsible for data collection (demographic data, structured interviews with questionnaires, assessment data from the doctor),
- Assembly and organization of materials for research sample collection,
- Database maintenance (data entry and verification),
- Participate in relevant meetings in order to increase their knowledge and understanding of studies,
- Recruitment of participants for clinical studies (administer informed consent, questionnaires),
- Perform other administrative tasks as requested by the research coordinator.

Education / Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Field of Study: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field (biomedical, epidemiology, nursing, rehabilitation) would be a definite asset.
Work Experience: 1 year of experience required for the position. Clerk experience an asset.
Required Skills
- Excellent French and English, spoken and written,
- Proficiency with MS-Excel and MS-Word,
- Self-directed with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and quality, respect for confidentiality,
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
- Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision.
Additional information
Status: Temporary, part-time (17.5-21 hrs/week)
Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience. $19.22 – $28.82 per hour
Work Shift: Variable Schedule: Flexible
Work Site: Hybrid: MUHC and remote
