We are currently looking for a Quality Control Supervisor to join our busy and growing manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be engaged in elevating the department and company to the next level. The incumbent will be forward looking and thrive in a culture of continuous improvement.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY-
Reporting directly to the Quality Systems Manager, the Quality Control Supervisor will provide leadership to the Quality Control department. This position will also identify area(s) to improve product quality through root cause investigation of non-conforming products and processes. Will support and cross train with other members of the team and any other related assigned projects. This position has 8-12 direct reports.
Key Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Supervise, monitor and evaluate QA process to ensure that Romet’s quality management systems guidelines are being followed and, evidence is recorded and maintained
- Lead and provide guidance to the Quality team by providing daily work direction and that procedures and instructions are followed for all in-coming, in-process and final inspection
- Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure finished products are following quality standards
- Effectively communicate corrective and preventative actions for non-conforming product and the affected process to operation supervisors
- Supervise supplier FAI samples incoming inspection with the detailed inspection report in a timely manner
- Prioritize raw material incoming inspection based on Romet production schedule with reference to standard sampling plan, and continuously look for an optimized plan to improve the efficiency
- Monitor supplier delivered products are compliant with quality standards, Issue Supplier Quality Notification for non-conforming supplier products
- Responsible for manufacturing in-process quality inspection, non-conformance containment, NC Log accuracy, ERP system defect data flush, quarantine cage management, etc.
- Responsible for finished good (s) outgoing quality audit with 100% compliance with customer specification
- Drive down cost of poor quality by launching C.I. project with the supports from the quality engineer
- Lead in depth failure analysis of non-conforming product and processes
- Drive for corrective action implementation by working cross function with engineering team on engineering drawing revision, work instruction or process flow update, etc. and present reports to management
- Responsible for calibration programs that monitor and control production and QC gauges
- Outline training needs for the employees in the department and maintain training records
- Ensures that all Company policies are adhered to at all times
- Conduct employee performance reviews, manager daily review of employee attendance and follow-up with employees who are absent without reason, controls working hours, schedules, and overtime
- All other duties and projects as assigned

Conduct safety talks with employees, correct and recognize Health and Safety performance

Training of new employee(s) as part of the orientation process

Correct unsafe acts and conditions and/or communicate to appropriate manager for correction

Ensures company safety policies are adhered to, and safe work habits are followed by all staff and visitors

Observe all legislative requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Skills and Qualifications:
-
Excellent understanding of ISO 9001 quality standards and quality management systems
-
Strong presentation skills
-
Advanced knowledge of computer/software (Microsoft Office, ERP Systems (Microsoft Business Central, JMP or Minitab is an asset)

Must possess excellent leadership and problem-solving skills, documentation and organizational skills
-
Excellent English language communication skills (both verbal and written)
-
Solid analytical skills, integrative thinking, and advanced problem-solving skills
-
Ability to set priorities and handle multiple priorities and be a self-starter
-
Ability to read, understand and interpret 2D and 3D drawings, including geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
Educational/Experience Requirements:
- College Diploma in industrial or mechanical engineering with quality control or related experience
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience required or equivalent manufacturing exposure
- Experience in statistical process control, process optimization and continuous improvement including experience with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing preferred
- Problem solving and Root Cause Analysis experience
- Experience with Measurement Canada audit process is an asset
- Experience in machining, electronics and/or assembly environments and understanding of process parameters and controls
- Solid understanding on the following quality tools 8D report, 5-why, and MTBF or MTBA, etc. Hands on experience with fishbone Analysis, SPC, Pareto Chart, Sampling Plan, etc.
