About the role
Division: Bow River Paving
Bow River Paving, part of the Trotter & Morton Group of Companies, has been providing asphalt paving services for private and commercial projects in Alberta since 1991. Our operations also include grading, gravelling, and snow removal services. Bow River is currently looking to hire an Class 1 Truck Driver who will contribute to our team of dedicated personnel by bringing their experience and high-quality workmanship to every project.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform pre/post-trip inspection report, and maintenance/repair log
- Transport heavy equipment
- Ensuring safety and security of cargo
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, etc.
- Report any required or preventative maintenance to shop Foreman
- Knowledge and assurance of dimension/permit requirements and assurance of compliance
- Comply with legislation including safe operation, carriage of goods, drivers hours, occupational health and safety
- Receive and relay information
- Plan travel schedules and routes
Required Skills
- Hold a valid Class 1 license
- 5 year clean drivers abstract required
- Must be able to operate a tractor/trailer unit in city traffic, on municipal roads and on highways
Required Experience
- 2-5 years’ experience required
- Experience working with hand tools, equipment and machinery
- Previous construction experience would be a definite asset
- Experience loading, securing and transporting different material or various types of heavy equipment
- Driving experience with hauling Paving Equipment and Asphalt
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends
- The position often requires overtime and can be seasonal in nature
- Travel may be required
