About the role
BCIT’s Foundation is seeking a regular, full-time (1.0 FTE**) Coordinator, Annual Giving.** This position implements and coordinates the Annual Giving Program, which includes the student awards and bursaries program, direct response and employee campaigns, endowment, monthly, planned and digital/online giving. Supports the Manager by providing subject matter expertise and input in the development of annual giving programs. The coordinator plays an integral role in growing a robust annual giving program that will support the Foundation’s acquisition, retention, renewal, upgrade, and pipeline-building strategies.
Duties & Responsibilities
DUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES**:**
Awards Program:
- Implements a comprehensive program to effectively support and facilitate the acquisition, renewal, and upgrade of annual and endowed award program supporters.
- Establishes annual and endowed fund accounts and ensures the proper allocation of donor funds.
- Provides subject matter expertise, information and guidance to internal Development Team. Liaises with donors who are considering a gift to establish new awards and bursaries; Facilitates and actions the internal process to fulfill the award.
- Renews and upgrades annual donor support through targeted campaigns including developing timelines, donor segmentation and campaign implementation.
- Ensures eligibility of donations and that awards are established in adherence with institute policies and procedures, department and program interests and priorities, donor interests and CRA requirements.
- Researches and compiles statistical and other information on the annual and endowed scholarship, bursary and awards program for the management team.
Direct Response Marketing:
- Coordinates the implementation of the annual direct response marketing and monthly giving campaigns and planned giving prospecting strategies.
- Develops the production of the annual appeals calendar and provides insights on segmentation strategies for each appeal and overall oversight to ensure the successful deployment of all aspects of the campaign.
- Closely monitors metrics and key performance indicators and brings forward insights to refine, test and pilot strategies for key donor segments.
- Provides high quality and personable donor engagement and assistance, proactively through timely thank you calls, cards, and follow ups to donor gifts and inquires.
Planned Giving:
- Coordinates the development and implementation of marketing materials for use in the Planned Giving program, including coordinating advertising campaigns, collateral, and surveys.
- Participates in Records Custodian training and remains current with record keeping practices, policies and procedures (both BCIT and FOIPOP).
Undertakes related duties as assigned, consistent with the job grade for this position.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS**:**

The qualifications represent the minimum qualifications required in the future (i.e. to be reflected in job postings) and do not reflect the incumbent’s existing qualifications.
Education:
- Grade 12 plus additional completion of 2-year specialized training in a full-time program from a post-secondary institution in business, communications, fundraising management or related discipline.
License(s)/Certifications(s):
- Must have a valid BC driver’s license, and access to a reliable vehicle.
Experience:
- Two years general experience plus two years’ practical current experience in a related role in a fundraising environment.
- Some direct knowledge or experience in annual giving, awards program implementation and/or direct response.
- Proven experience planning and organizing events.
- Experience working with a wide variety of stakeholders including volunteers, board members and donors.
- Knowledge of Revenue Canada Guidelines, FOIPOP, and Records Management.
Software/Computer Application(s) and Expertise:
- Proven experience using customer relationship management (CRM) databases such as Raisers Edge.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite with demonstrated skills in Excel and Word.
- Computer literacy, including excellent skills using standard office software and internet navigation software applications.
Communication/Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal & written) and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, stakeholders and donors.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise considerable judgment, tact, and discretion while imparting sensitive and confidential information.
Administrative Skills (e.g. prioritizing, minute taking, wp speed, etc.):

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to deliver outcomes in a timely manner and with a high degree of accuracy and customer service.

Ability to both contribute effectively to the team and to work independently with minimal supervision.

Proven ability and accuracy in word processing skills and ability to produce documentation for internal and external clients with accurate keyboard skills of 50 wpm.

Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with pressure, set priorities and handle multiple projects.

Salary Range
Salary Grade 9: $66,284 to $71,964 per annum.
Additional Salary Information
External hires are initially placed at the minimum of the salary range with set progressions to the maximum as per the Collective Agreement. Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment.
