This Position reports to:

Human resources business partner

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to an exceptional HR experience. Each day, you will work closely with HRBPs, hiring managers and people managers to ensure HR strategies are followed. You will also showcase your expertise by providing periodic updates on HR trends to the wider people function and management team, as well as the business.

The work model for the role is: hybrid #hybrid

This role is contributing to the Emergency Lighting division in Dorval, Montreal. Main stakeholders are people managers and employees in production.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Acting as a trusted advisor to the business in assuming responsibilities related to human resources management, such as recruitment, onboarding, performance management, learning management, disciplinary action, payroll, benefits, and compensation administration; all while ensuring quality service employees.
  • Acts as a talent acquisition advisor and partner for the business by developing a deep understanding of the business, proactively building relationships with hiring managers, and strategically advising them on talent matters throughout the entire talent acquisition process, including, sourcing, attraction, assessment, offer and market conditions.
  • Ensuring excellence in methods and processes applied at ABB by facilitating transparent, evidence-based process while acting as a project manager and subject matter expert in alignment with group guidance, policy, and procedures.
  • Maintaining data quality and enabling on-demand data to drive insights and informed decision making, while focusing on continuous improvement by recommending, developing, and assisting in the implementation of special programs.

What it takes to run what runs the world

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, industrial relations or equivalent.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to demonstrate your analytical and problem-solving skills, while maintaining attention to detail.
  • You have 1-2 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • You possess knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • You are passionate about laws and regulations pertaining to human resources management and are customer-service oriented.
  • You demonstrate strong communication skills and are at ease communicating in French and English. French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
  • You hold current CHRP membership valid in Quebec, Canada (an asset).
