Reporting to the Infrastructure Architect, the ISS is a key member of the Infrastructure and Enterprise Solutions team.

The Infrastructure Services Specialist (ISS) ensures the installation, maintenance, and monitoring of IT infrastructure to provide seamless access to resources and the Internet. This role supports the organization’s mission and values through strategic, systematic approaches to IT operations and security.

They are expected to collaborate with team members to implement innovative solutions and resolve complex challenges efficiently, with an emphasis on delivering measurable improvements in infrastructure performance and user satisfaction.

They utilize advanced tools and technologies such as Azure Active Directory and Next Generation Firewalls to enhance infrastructure reliability.

The position requires flexibility, including occasional evening and weekend hours, to meet operational needs and support Ministry of Education initiatives.

Job Description Assist in designing and implementing innovative IT infrastructure solutions

Administer and maintain server hardware and OS software

Manage Identity & Access Management services, including Azure Active Directory Cloud Services/Entra ID authentication

Ensure seamless data integration across all solutions

Collaborate on developing, implementing, and managing LAN/WAN, Wireless Infrastructure, Security Management Systems, and Active Directory Services

Act as a point of escalation for modifying permissions and security settings for contractors and support staff

Investigate cybersecurity incidents and propose mitigation strategies

Identify, document, and mitigate security risks across the enterprise

Automate routine tasks using PowerShell for account lifecycle management (creation, changes, deletions) and report generation from Azure and Intune

Develop and maintain automation scripts for infrastructure monitoring and enhancements

Manage desktop environments using Intune, including app deployment and Autopilot configurations

Ensure seamless device lifecycle management from provisioning to decommissioning

Provide support to Level 1 technicians and client support teams, conducting root cause analysis for recurring issues.

Create and periodically update technical and user documentation.

Draft action plans for contractors and support staff.

Liaise with other departments to establish and maintain systems

Required Qualifications Degree or diploma in a related field

3 years of directly related experience

Proven experience in system administration, network management, and security

Strong expertise in Microsoft Active Directory Azure AD/Entra ID management, Cloud Application Suites, etc.

Proficiency in PowerShell or other scripting tools for automation

Hands-on experience with Intune for desktop and device management (Autopilot, app deployment)

Experience with LAN/WAN and wireless infrastructure.

Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and incident response.

Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills

Valid Ontario Driver’s License with access to a vehicle

Individuals who possess an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered

This is a permanent full-time (1.0 FTE) position. The anticipated start date of this position is as soon as the interview process is complete. The annual salary range of $95,098 - $103,1
