Junior Circuit/Software Development Engineer Co-op The Opportunity 4-month work term: September - December 2025
How You Will Contribute The Wavelogic family of products are widely used in Ciena's optical fiber transmission solutions and are one of the main contributors to Ciena's success in the telecommunications industry.
You will be joining a vibrant team with a proven track-record of success over 30-years of evolution and revolution in the advancement of high-speed circuits used in broadband fiber-optic modems. This team pioneered the introduction of the world’s first high-speed DAC and ADC analog macros that ushered in the era of coherent fiber-optic product solutions.
To further strengthen our team, we are looking for a hardworking Junior Analog Circuit/Software Engineer who will participate in the development of circuits and software to improve our design methodology by creating custom tools working with existing design software. Your role as a junior software designer will be to deliver software solution that benefit our design team.
- You will be responsible for creating software that improves on our design flow by making it more efficient.
- You will interact with the design team members who may assist with aspects of the overall implementation.
- Reporting on status updates on a regular basis, participation in team meetings and sharing of experience with the rest of the group
The Must Haves
- Working towards completion of Bachelors, Masters or PhD in electrical engineering, computer science or other applicable scientific study
- Ability to methodically address technical problems.
- Excellent organization, written and oral (English) interpersonal skills
Assets
- Experience with design tools used for analog design.
Pay Range The hourly pay range for this position is $25.00 - $34.00
Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business.
