##Criminal Intelligence Analyst Supervisor

The Police Services Department is seeking to hire a regular full-time Criminal Intelligence Analyst Supervisor for the RCMP Detachment. In this position you will perform supervisory work of one or more employees. This position involves complex work and requires specialized statistical and analytical support of criminal investigations and the development of detachment projects, priorities and programs. You will plan, assign, review and coordinate the work of employees engaged in crime and/or intelligence analysis work, and assist in project design and implementation. You will also collect, evaluate, analyze and interpret a variety of investigative and intelligence information, monitor and identify crime patterns and trends, and prepare reports and recommendations based upon analytical findings.

You will possess a university degree in a related discipline, such as criminology, economics, sociology, statistics or another discipline related to the work, supplemented by the completion of at least one or more recognized specialty analytic training programs or certifications. As well as considerable knowledge of research, statistical and analytical practices, procedures, methods and techniques, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. You will have sound knowledge of the criminal justice system, preferably in a policing environment. Working knowledge of relevant software (PRIME, CPIC, i2 Analyst Notebook, iBase, Microsoft Office, specialized mapping software) and superior communication and presentation skills are required as you will provide presentations, briefing and situation reports, and present results, conclusions and recommendations verbally and in writing. You will also establish and maintain effective working relationships with regular members, City employees and external and partner agencies.

You must have strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and deal with sensitive, graphic material and situations using a high level of professionalism.

Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of three years’ experience working as a Criminal Intelligence Analyst.

You will be required to obtain and maintain top secret security clearance as a condition of ongoing employment.

Shortlisted candidates may be required to complete standardized tests or exercises to demonstrate their applicable skills and knowledge.

Salary: $52.21 to $61.73 per hour
(Pay Grade 29 - January 2024 rates)

Hours of Work: Any 8 consecutive hours exclusive of a one hour unpaid meal break between the hours of 6:00am - 11:00pm, any five consecutive days of seven with a compressed work schedule with one scheduled day off (Monday or Friday) approximately each three-week scheduling cycle.
