Tax Manager Contractor We’re seeking a Tax Manager for a 12–18 month contract in Calgary. Reporting to the Director, Tax, this hands-on role covers all areas of the income tax lifecycle and offers the chance to grow in a collaborative, fast-paced environment within the oil and gas sector.

Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To

• Review and prepare tax provisions, disclosures, and supporting documentation for quarterly and year-end reporting.
• Conduct annual return-to-provision analysis and update calculations accordingly.
• Support audits by preparing analyses, reports, and liaising with external auditors.
• Lead preparation and review of Canadian income tax filings (T2, T5013, NR4, T5).
• Lead preparation and review of indirect tax filings for Canadian and U.S. entities.
• Prepare/review taxable income forecasts for Canadian entities.
• Manage Canadian tax authority audits as required.
• Assist with U.S. tax compliance and reporting.
• Support transfer pricing processes and policies for Canadian and U.S. entities.
• Liaise with external advisors on global tax issues and reporting implications.
• Participate in corporate tax planning for acquisitions, divestitures, and growth.
• Research and analyze tax issues impacting the group of companies.

Your strengths include:

• Bachelor’s degree and CPA designation.
• 5+ years of experience in tax, preferably with experience in the oil and gas industry
• 3+ years post qualification experience
• 2+ years of experience as a Canadian Income Tax Manager
• Experience in the preparation, analysis and review of Canadian tax returns and tax provisions
• Familiarity with IFRS
• Must have a high proficiency in MS Office Suite with exceptional Excel knowledge and skills
