About the role
This role is ideal for a skilled videographer and editor based in Toronto or the Greater Toronto Area, tasked with producing a polished 5-minute educational video focused on gender-transformative approaches for supporting women affected by intimate partner violence (IPV). The project involves on-site filming of talking-head interviews, integrating visual overlays, and incorporating light motion and text graphics, all guided by a provided storyboard. The final video will serve as a training resource for service providers such as shelter staff, counsellors, and health professionals. The successful candidate will demonstrate sensitivity to trauma-informed content and deliver a clean, modern video with professional finishing touches.
Responsibilities
- Film talking-head interviews on-site in Toronto, ensuring high-quality audio and lighting
- Integrate visual overlays, lower thirds, titles, and light motion/text graphics as per storyboard
- Edit footage to create a cohesive, modern 5-minute training video
- Incorporate subtitles if required for accessibility
- Deliver both a full-quality master and a compressed version suitable for online use
- Adhere to project deadlines, with final delivery required by January 8, 2026
Skills And Requirements
- Proven experience in videography and video editing, preferably for educational or training content
- Proficient with professional camera, lighting, and audio equipment (must provide own gear)
- Advanced skills in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro)
- Ability to create and integrate motion graphics and text overlays
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow a storyboard
- Sensitivity to trauma-informed subject matter and experience working with vulnerable topics
- Based in Toronto or the Greater Toronto Area, with availability for on-site filming
