About the role
Our client is a well-funded Canadian aerospace company developing next-generation launch technology to advance domestic access to space. Founded by an experienced team of industry veterans, they're building complex, mission-critical systems that support national innovation, security, and long-term growth within Canada's rapidly expanding space sector.
We're looking for a Facilities Manager to join the team! This is a hands-on, foundational role responsible for designing, building, and managing the organization's physical infrastructure across multiple sites. Ideal candidates have experience overseeing industrial or technical facilities, enjoy solving operational challenges, and thrive in fast-paced engineering environments where they'll build the infrastructure that enables innovation.
What you'll do
Design, build, and maintain multi-site facilities, including utilities, workspaces, and operational infrastructure Oversee building systems, including power distribution, HVAC, compressed air, water, and specialized engineering or lab environments Manage facilities vendors, preventative maintenance programs, and service contracts Monitor facility performance, respond to issues, and minimize operational downtime across the organization Partner with cross-functional teams to plan facility expansions and ensure infrastructure supports business growth Support physical security, safety programs, access controls, compliance requirements, and facilities documentation
What we're looking for
5+ years of experience in facilities management, building operations, or facilities engineering Experience managing industrial, manufacturing, commercial, or technical facilities across one or more locations Strong knowledge of building systems, utilities, preventative maintenance, and facilities operations Experience managing vendors, contractors, and building service providers Proven ability to troubleshoot facility issues and operate independently in fast-paced environments Comfortable building processes and infrastructure within a high-growth organization
Nice to have
Experience supporting aerospace, manufacturing, defense, or other highly regulated industries Familiarity with physical security, life safety, or facilities compliance frameworks Experience supporting engineering, laboratory, manufacturing, or R&D environments Bachelor's degree or diploma in Facilities Management, Mechanical Engineering, Building Systems, or a related field
