Senior Accountant (Remote within Ottawa)
Multiview is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team based in the Ottawa office. This role will help maintain Multiview as an employer of choice by providing support in a wide range of finance and accounting functions to the organization.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, as a member of the Finance team, you will be providing support in a wide range of finance and accounting functions. The successful candidate will be an experienced and highly motivated team player who is detail oriented, a self-starter and someone who can meet the demands of a fast-paced growing technology company while maintaining a positive attitude.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Supporting all aspects of Multiview’s recurring accounting processes including:
- Perform daily accounting activities to support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement close process
- Manage company bank accounts and prepare bank reconciliations
- Perform account reconciliations and general ledger journal entries.
- Record, review and obtain approval for supplier invoices.
- Issue AR recurring subscription invoices and review customer contracts for pertinent milestones for invoicing and deferred revenue
- Assess and prepare revenue recognition schedules, accruals and prepaid entries
- Prepare payroll and related payroll entries for both Canada and US employees, including but not limited remitting provincial, state and federal payroll returns.
- Perform and review to ensure compliance with sales taxes in both Canada and the U.S.
- Liaise with external partners (auditors and registered agents) in the preparation of annual income tax returns, annual reports and year-end audit
- Assist in developing and implementing process improvements and expand and/ or improve the existing internal control environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Extensive collaboration with the Finance team and other departments
- Based out of Ottawa, ON offices. While this employee can work remotely, the ability to be in the Ottawa office as required is necessary.

- Accounting Skills
- Strong, in-depth knowledge of finance and accounting close cycle is required to perform the role competently. The incumbent must be comfortable using the technology and be able to explain it to others. This level of expertise is gained through extensive on the job experience.
- Teamwork – Collaborate with cross-functional teams to effectively address the needs of each team while always maintaining the employee/client’s outcomes as the driver
- Problem solving – Proactive in anticipating and resolving problems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- CPA or progress towards CPA considered an asset
- SaaS Industry experience considered an asset.
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar accounting / finance role
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting standards such as ASPE
- Strong understanding of Canadian and US tax compliance
- Familiarity with an enterprise accounting applications system
- High proficiency in MS Excel
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently within a team environment and take initiative
- Ability to exercise discretion when dealing with sensitive information
- A positive, supportive and professional attitude
- Willingness to be coached, mentored and driven to reach your fullest potential
