Your Opportunity
Stantec’s Water Delivery Team is seeking a skilled and driven Senior Civil Technologist to join our growing team. This opportunity is ideal for a candidate eager to expand their design expertise while contributing to a diverse portfolio of private and public water infrastructure projects. The successful applicant will bring proven experience with Civil 3D, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and other technical design tools, applying their strong technical capabilities across a range of innovative and impactful projects.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Uses knowledge of design tools, engineering calculation, and platforms to complete and update 3D models for large complex multidisciplinary projects, completing design changes, general arrangement drawing production, redlining, plotting, and drafting using a variety of CAD/BIM platforms.
- Leads the development of engineering digital deliverables (3D models, drawings, etc.) for complex projects, including project set up and coordination of QAQC activities for those deliverables
- Mentor and coach junior staff.
- Coordinating project drawings with project managers, using collaboration software such as ACC or ProjectWise.
- Undertake the design and drafting of site plans and civil engineering structures (including grading, stormwater management, underground utilities, and surface improvements) adhering to Water, Provincial and Municipal standards.
- Performing earthworks calculations using existing topographic data and design surfaces.
- Designing grades, sanitary/storm sewers, and water networks based on rough grades according to the appropriate design standard.
- Contribute to developing and designing preliminary engineering concepts in the planning phase.
- Prepare as-built record drawings upon project completion.
- Ensuring quality control of your work.
- Performing a variety of defined assignments with independent judgment.
- Assisting with project timelines and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Coordinate project drawings with project managers, CAD staff and others.
- Ensure that the projects’ needs are met in a timely and effective manner.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Proficiency in Civil 3D.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office software.
- Experience and understanding of GIS is an asset.
- Experience with Microstation & InRoads would be an asset.
- Experience with ACC and Project Wise would be an asset.
- Experience with Autodesk Recap and AutoTurn would be an asset.
- Effective communication and writing abilities.
- The capability to work independently and consistently deliver high-quality work.
- A positive work ethic and the ability to adapt to various projects.
- Committed to ongoing personal and professional development.
- Strong computer software skills including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Word, Excel & MS Project.
- Familiarity with various municipal & regional design and drafting standards.
- Experience in preliminary design and detailed design associated with municipal infrastructure projects.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and projects.
- Attend regional meetings and coordinate workflow tasks with the CAD/BIM Regional Team Lead.
Education and Experience
- Certified Engineering Technologist or equivalent technology diploma/experience
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
