Join us as Structural Integrity Lead Engineer, and you’ll be engaged in a career-defining role by participating to the design and the structural validation of passenger railroad vehicles.
As a member of the structural design team, you will:
- Produce component qualification and validation plans in accordance with technical specifications, internal guidelines, and applicable standards.
- Develop the vibration control plan for rail vehicles and participate in the requirements management process by reviewing and deriving vibration control specifications for chassis, bogies, and systems.
- Create and verify finite element models of rail vehicle components.
- Perform mechanical calculation activities including stress analysis with linear and nonlinear materials, fatigue life estimation, evaluation of bolted and welded assemblies, deflection and stability analysis, modal analysis, and frequency response analysis.
- Assume the expertise for vibration related issues, realize frequency response analyses, determine fatigue damage resulting from random vibration excitation, perform mobility computations to evaluate structure born noise criteria.
- Guide component design and suggest improvements to optimize functionality, weight, and manufacturability based on calculation results.
- Write mechanical calculation reports according to project schedule.
- Present and explain the results to the client.
- Participate in design reviews with internal and external clients.
- Prepare specifications for qualification tests, participate in on-site testing, review data, and write reports.
- Support various project activities such as stage reviews, risk assessments, budget estimates, etc.
We are looking for candidates with the following profile:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably with a focus on mechanical vibration analysis.
- Member of the OIQ, engineer or candidate to the engineering profession (CPE).
- Knowledge of Finite Element Method with experience in using specialized software such as Hyperwork.
- Theoretical bases in material strength calculation, and mastery of assembly analysis methodologies. Experience in the transport sector is an asset.
- Capable of performing advanced vibration calculations, such as response to a random excitation spectrum, structural mobility calculations.
- Self-driven, structured, and organized with a practical and systematic approach to problem-solving.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including with third parties (clients).
- Team player who enjoys learning and sharing new knowledge.
- Ability to multitask in a matrix and project-oriented organisation.
- Functional French, professional proficiency in English.
