1.0 FTE - Core French Long Term Occasional Teacher
Location: Trenton High School
Start Date: immediately
End Date: March 6, 2026 (extension possible)

RATE OF PAY:
The salary for this position is based on the incumbent's and approved teaching experience. Salary grids can be found within the applicable under Local Article L29 (pg. 76) . Salary rates are prorated based on the FTE and the length of the assignment. The current rate is effective September 1, 2025.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Incumbent must be in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers
- OCT Intermediate Divisional Qualifications
- OCT FSL Part 1 qualifications
- Applicants who receive an offer of employment will be required to provide a vulnerable sector criminal background check that is dated within six (6) months of their start date.
HPEDSB is encouraging individuals with proficiency in French language to apply to this position, even if they are not in possession of an OCT certificate. For those applicants who are not certified with the Ontario College of Teachers, the Board will require the following:
- Resume and Cover Letter outlining experiences.
- An endorsement letter from your community confirming your proficiency in the French language.
Applicants who are not certified with the Ontario College of Teachers will also be required to confirm their eligibility to teacher on a Letter of Permission as a condition of employment. This eligibly is outlined in Ontario Regulation 142/08 Letters of Permission made under the Education Act. This eligibility includes:
- Being 18 years of age or older,
- Having an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
- Providing a satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal background check.
