Job Title: Service Technician - In-Plant Services Location: Burlington, ON (with travel across Ontario and other regions of Canada as required)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
About The Opportunity We are seeking a skilled Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial inkjet printing systems, including Continuous Inkjet (CIJ), Thermal Inkjet (TIJ), and high-resolution printers . This role also supports customer engagement and sales efforts through technical expertise, product demonstrations, and relationship management.
The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a customer-focused approach to servicing existing accounts while supporting business growth across Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and commission industrial inkjet printers at customer sites
- Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs to minimize downtime
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software-related issues using technical schematics and diagnostic tools
- Provide on-site training and technical support to operators and maintenance teams
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Support existing customers by identifying opportunities for consumables, service contracts, and equipment upgrades
- Conduct product demonstrations and provide technical support for prospective customers
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through responsive and professional service
General Duties
- Travel to customer sites across Ontario and other regions of Canada as required
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
- Stay current with evolving inkjet technologies through ongoing training
- Assist with inventory management of spare parts, tools, and consumables
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience servicing industrial inkjet or similar technical equipment
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and software systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Experience in customer-facing service roles with strong communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade education is an asset
- Valid driver's license required
- OEM or related technical certifications are considered an asset
Additional Skills
- Strong problem-solving and time management abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Physically capable of equipment installation and repairs (lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods)
- Willingness to travel and provide occasional on-call or weekend support
