Senior Network Support Specialist
About the role
LeverageTek is actively seeking a Senior Network Support Specialist for a 2-year contract with its Ottawa-based customer.
Work Location
The successful candidate will be required to work 8 days per month on-site at the customer headquarters in Ottawa, ON. Fully remote candidates may be considered.
Key Tasks
Provide senior-level operational support for enterprise network infrastructure Lead network evergreening initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts Troubleshoot and resolve complex cross-functional network and infrastructure issues Plan, coordinate, and execute production deployment validation, failover testing, disaster recovery testing, performance testing, and vulnerability remediation activities Analyze existing network environments to identify opportunities for optimization, simplification, and operational efficiency Implement infrastructure upgrades, configuration changes, and enhancements to support business and operational requirements Support production and non-production environments during deployments, incidents, and maintenance activities Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable network services Participate in Agile delivery processes and contribute to CI/CD practices where applicable Produce technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer as required
Key Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of recent hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies including Cisco Nexus 9000, Catalyst 9300, Cisco 6508, and Cisco APIC Minimum 5 years of recent experience supporting enterprise network operations, testing, systems integration, or infrastructure development Must be eligible to obtain Secret Security Clearance (minimum 5 years residing in Canada)
Qualifications
University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline Experience supporting Azure Cloud Networking environments Strong understanding of enterprise IT Operations and operational support best practices Experience supporting the full SDLC including CI/CD processes Experience working with scalable, highly available service-oriented architectures Experience working within Agile delivery environments Experience using ServiceNow (asset) Experience supporting Cisco ASA firewalls (asset) Experience administering Check Point firewalls (asset) Experience working within large, complex enterprise or government environments (asset)
Compensation Hourly Rate Negotiable
