About the role
Reporting to the Agribusiness Manager, the Petroleum Clerk is responsible for delivering world-class customer service and providing administrative and clerical services to ensure effective and efficient administrative operations in the Energy Department. The Petroleum Clerk is also responsible for responsible for providing prompt response to customer inquiries, providing customer service at the checkout, and operation the cash register.
Other duties include inventory management, stocking, and facing products on shelves, answering telephones, practicing good housekeeping habits, and maintaining cleanliness and housekeeping standards of the checkout area, sales floor, parking lot and cardlock maintenance.
Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of six months of administrative and customer service experience, effective communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work well within multi-generational teams, and a commitment to exceptional customer service. Experience with Microsoft Office programs (including Word & Excel) and knowledge of petroleum products or willingness to learn are required.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Computer and data entry skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Outlook and Excel)
- High level of integrity and work ethic
- Mut be strongly service-oriented and motivated, and capable of serving and assisting customers in a courteous and efficient manner
- Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
- Ability to adapt to new technology
- High level of integrity and work ethic
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
- High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
