System Planner: On behalf of our Telecommunications client, Procom is searching for a System Planner for a 1-year role. This position is a hybrid position with up to 3 days onsite at our client’s North York office in Toronto, Ontario.

System Planner - Job Description: The System Planner will be responsible for CATV-Fibre/design/mapping and coordinating various project types such as major cable and structure relocations, network upgrades, and new area builds. The role emphasizes a "Customer Comes First" approach, ensuring projects are executed from creation to completion efficiently and effectively.

System Planner - Responsibilities:

• Communicate with internal or external customers to determine the scope of projects
• Plan and survey coax cable and/or fiber optic cable routes for construction feasibility
• Analyze existing network designs to determine optimal new plant designs
• Plan, design, and coordinate projects for Coax and Fiber Network Architecture following standards
• Initiate necessary permits and utility applications for fiber/coax plant installations
• Prepare cost estimates and documentation for associated projects
• Review Coax & Fibre Optic Network Designs and Permits for compliance with specifications
• Maintain and report on project status through a project tracking system
• Collaborate with other Planners, Construction Team, and design contractors
• Liaise with local utilities, municipalities, and private property owners to ensure timely project completion

System Planner - Mandatory Skills:

• Post-secondary diploma in Electronics Technology, Data Communications, or Civil Technology, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years of CATV or Telecom industry experience in Planning and/or Construction
• Working knowledge of CSA standards, municipal by-laws, and regulatory standards
• Ability to conceive, analyze, manage, and implement network design projects
• Proven skills in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Valid Ontario driver's license with a safe driving record

System Planner – Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Knowledge of SpatialNET & ADM
• Experience with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Teams) and Adobe Acrobat
• Understanding of coax and fiber optic network architecture
• Ability to read and understand civil drawings
• Strong multi-tasking and project management skills

System Planner – Assignment Length: This is a 1-year contract position with the possibility of extension for another year.
