About the role

Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a Distribution Assistant to join our team at Rubicon Distribution Centre in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan Responsibilities

  • Report to the Distribution Centre Manager and manage the receiving and fulfilling of customer orders for medications and supplies for clinics and hospitals
  • Operate within Health Canada - Health Products and Food Branch Inspectorate regulations for the wholesaling of medications and medical devices, ensuring compliance with product procurement, temperature storage, shipping requirements, customer complaints, and product recalls
  • Some physical tasks are involved, including receiving stock, warehousing, and moving items.
  • The role also requires regular telephone and in-person communication with customers placing orders.
  • Order, receive, store, and secure materials and supplies necessary for the department’s ongoing operations, following and executing store policies
  • Ensure the Health Canada-licensed warehouse is properly maintained, adhering to safety and regulatory standards for handling medications and medical devices
  • Contribute to increasing profitability through effective inventory control, minimizing wastage, and optimizing stock levels without shortages
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the team, customers, and vendors, ensuring the long-term viability of operations
  • Participate in product cataloging, vendor management, and tracking of materials to support current and future needs
  • Maintain accurate records, reporting, and communication with the Pharmacy Manager/Store Operator
  • Provide support and services to Neighbourly Pharmacy locations as needed
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks to support the Distribution Centre Manager and Store Operator

Qualifications

  • Preference for candidates with previous pharmacy experience and knowledge of SAGE computer applications (training can be provided)
  • Experience with month-end reporting, accounts, billables & payables, and inventory control, including receiving and shipping
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Professional image, grooming, and a positive attitude with excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and co-workers
  • Physically capable of performing essential job duties, including lifting up to 30 lbs
  • Successful candidates must complete a Criminal Record Check due to the sensitive nature of the position

Schedule

  • 40 hours per week (Full-time).
  • The standard shifts will be Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
