About the role

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Senior Manager, Renewals to be a part of our Customer Success organization. This leadership position is responsible for supporting, aligning, and enforcing renewal priorities including timely renewals, uplift maximization, moving customers to better contract vehicles, and increasing the number of multiyear renewal contracts.

This is a demanding role that requires strong leadership, priority management, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, as well as previous experience in a renewals leadership role. The Manager, Renewals is responsible for ensuring that their team is focused on minimizing financial attrition (near and long-term), securing favorable terms, identifying growth opportunities, and providing data insights back to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Renewal Managers, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance management to drive excellence in renewals execution.
  • Develop and implement key performance metrics to measure team success, improve forecasting accuracy, and identify areas for optimization.
  • Act as a strategic thought partner in the evolution of the renewals function, bringing insights and recommendations to drive process and customer experience improvements.
  • Champion a customer-first approach while balancing business objectives, ensuring customer needs are met during renewal discussions.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership on key renewal trends, forecast risks, and operational improvements. Share ideas and insights to continuously improve the renewal process and customer experience.
  • Own and optimize the renewals process, ensuring efficiency, predictability, and alignment with broader customer retention strategies.
  • Ensure renewal forecast accuracy, prioritization, on-time execution, multi-year growth, and price increases across assigned portfolios.
  • Strategize for more effective negotiation, early renewal closing, risk mitigation, collaboration with Customer Success, and account de-escalation.
  • Drive short-term and long-term revenue impact by minimizing financial attrition and securing favorable terms.
  • Oversee operational responsibilities including weekly forecast management, renewal hygiene, Salesforce improvements (identification, scoping, testing), and leading monthly At-Risk/Churn review meetings with the Chief Customer Officer.
  • Partner cross-functionally (e.g., Customer Success, Legal, Deal Desk, Sales Ops, and Finance) to develop comprehensive win strategies for renewal events.
  • Provide a pathway to success for deals requiring creative solutions or leadership involvement.
  • Leverage Salesforce as the single system of record to streamline and optimize daily renewal operations.

Required Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent global experience
  • 3-5+ years of demonstrated success in a Renewals, Sales, or Account Management leadership role with a strong track record of building high-performance teams within a software sales environment
  • Proven track record of exceeding quota and KPIs, along with strong organizational, operational, and analytical skills
  • Approaches work with empathy, craftsmanship, and a growth mindset - you are a self-motivated and proactive team player.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills to work well across teams and functions
  • Highly effective communicator, capable of explaining complex situations clearly and credibly at all levels
  • Comfort negotiating complex license agreements
  • Strong customer management and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage, analyze, and track data across sophisticated and complex renewal cycles
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively prioritize and delegate
  • Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail—especially in data entry and management
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools and systems

Location

This position will be hybrid working 3 days/week in our office in Atlanta, GA or Oakville, ON.
