Effective Date: September 2026-December 2026
Reporting to the Associate Dean, the incumbent develops and delivers courses in the Dental Administration program. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Delivering courses online in the Dental Administration program
- Developing and delivering appropriate curriculum to meet course objectives
- Incorporating a variety of teaching / learning strategies to meet student needs
- Evaluating student progress / achievement
- Participating in program and college activities as required
- Participating in program revision and renewal activities as required
- Creating and maintaining a positive learning environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successfully completed an accredited post-secondary program for dental assisting or dental hygiene program
- Must be a Certified Level II Dental Assistant or a registered Dental Hygienist and have current registration with a regulatory or certifying body (e.g. Ontario Dental Assistants Association or the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario)
- Five years’ experience within the Dental field with focus on office management
- Teaching and Training Adults certification preferred
- Experience in teaching or training capacity
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster the same in their students
- A commitment to life-long learning
- Experience in some or all of the following: curriculum development, a variety of delivery strategies, adult learning methodologies, academic advising, and student success strategies
- Computer literacy: Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience using dental software (e.g. Dentrix, Dexis, Abledent)
- Computer literacy with a Learning Management System / Web Delivery Software (i.e. Blackboard) and a Student Information System would be considered an asset
- Current First Aid and HCP CPR
