Reporting to the Director, Convention & Event Services, and as a member of the Convention & Event Sales and Services team, the Manager is responsible for the complete coordination of groups with or without meeting rooms, in all markets. His/her role is to ensure the coordination and execution of the services provided for in the group agreements, and to act as an intermediary between the various hotel departments and the organizers of business events.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews files received from the sales team
- Orchestrates scouting visits with customers and various departments and/or suppliers
- Writes purchase orders and prepares floor plans, if necessary
- Optimizes revenues by proposing upgrades to room categories and menus
- Coordinates and monitors room blocks
- Transmits all information to respective departments via communications tools such as convention summaries, order forms, etc.
- Plan and chair pre-convention meetings for all groups of 50 rooms or less (or as required)
- Greets groups on arrival, ensuring presence and availability during events
- Attends departmental meetings such as forecasting, credit, sales/event management, or others as required
- Reviews invoices, ensures accuracy and follows up on payments
- Schedules post-convention meetings or calls to obtain customer feedback and propose future events
- Provides information for thank-you letters and Marriott Bonvoy points to sales coordinators
- Ensures the accuracy of information and updates for groups registered in the CI/TY system.
- Keeps abreast of service developments and new trends in his/her field via information media such as the Marriott website, Tourism Montréal, etc.
- Participates in business activities such as trade shows, networking events, sales blitzes, etc.
Required Qualifications and Skills:

Experience :
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar position in the hotel industry or related field
- Diploma in hotel management (an asset)
- Excellent knowledge of the tourism industry, as well as of the establishment's products and services
- Knowledge of job-related software (an asset): Word, Excel, Outlook, CI/TY, Social Table, PMS/Marsha
Languages: Bilingualism (French and English) in both spoken and written form is required for this position, as we serve an international clientele.
