Position Description
We are seeking a Senior Healthcare Consultant with strong clinical and technical expertise to support digital transformation initiatives within the healthcare sector. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will contribute to a variety of IT and application projects that require deep understanding of clinical workflows, hospital operations, and health information systems.
This is a hybrid role based in Atlantic Canada. Your ability to connect clinical needs with technical solutions will be critical to the success of this role.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Serve as a clinical and technical SME across various healthcare IT initiatives, including enterprise system implementations, integrations, migrations, and upgrades.
- Partner with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to ensure alignment between workflows, data requirements, and technology solutions.
- Leverage your knowledge of hospital systems and operations to guide solution design, implementation, and change management efforts.
- Apply expertise in areas such as:
- Health data integration, migration, or mapping
- Data governance and quality frameworks
- Architecture and infrastructure considerations
- Workflow optimization and clinical process redesign
- Provide insights and guidance on leading EHR/EMR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, or equivalent systems.
- Support vendor coordination, technical discussions, and decision-making processes involving health IT applications.
- Ensure that clinical integrity and data accuracy are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to documentation, testing, validation, and training activities as required.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
- Strong understanding of clinical processes, workflows, and hospital operations.
- 8+ years of experience in Health IT Consulting.
- Proven track record working on IT projects in a clinical or hospital environment (e.g., data systems, EMR implementations, data migration or governance initiatives).
- Hands-on experience with clinical information systems, particularly Epic, Cerner, or equivalent EHR platforms.
- Ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to align goals and translate clinical needs into system functionality.
Preferred
- Experience with provincial health authorities or large-scale healthcare systems in Canada.
