We’re looking for a Senior Systems Administrator who thrives on solving complex challenges, driving innovation, and keeping mission-critical systems running flawlessly across our 19 operating companies—on a 1-year contract with real impact.
As part of Mainroad Group’s collaborative and high-impact IT team, you'll manage and optimize a diverse mix of cloud and on-prem infrastructure — from Microsoft Cloud & Azure to Palo Alto firewalls, VMware virtualization, and HPE server environments. What You’ll Do
✅ Lead the design, deployment, and performance of Microsoft Cloud, Intune & Azure services
✅ Manage Windows OS updates using Windows Auto-Patch
✅ Configure and secure Palo Alto firewalls with continuous monitoring
✅ Maintain VMware virtual environments and ensure top-tier performance
✅ Oversee HPE server infrastructure — install, upgrade, maintain
✅ Support and optimize cloud + on-prem networking and connectivity
✅ Perform proactive health checks, vulnerability remediation, and patching
✅ Collaborate cross-functionally to solve technical issues and support business-critical projects
✅ Manage software licensing and hardware procurement
✅ Keep documentation sharp and standards-aligned
✅ Support cyber security initiatives across the organization
Occasional travel may be required to support locations throughout BC, Vancouver Island, and Alberta
What You Bring
Expert-level experience with Microsoft Cloud/Azure
Hands-on Palo Alto firewall administration
Strong VMware virtualization background
Deep knowledge of HPE server systems
Advanced understanding of cloud + network architecture
A passion for security and system reliability
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience

Minimum 6+ years in systems administration focused on cloud & networks

Certifications such as: MCSA, CCNA, VMware VCP, Azure Administrator, PCNSE, HPE ASE/ATP

Valid BC driver’s license
