Your experience is:

  • 3+ years experience in quality engineering, quality assurance or in a similar role.
  • Experience working in the windows & doors industry is an asset.
  • Experience coding and using QA software tools and processes.
  • ISO 9001 quality standard knowledge is an asset.
  • Ability to accurately use precision measuring equipment and interpret metric/imperial systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of internal quality specifications, and your detail orientation ensures that only quality products are released for shipment to our customers.
  • Your evaluation of findings drives corrective actions to the manufacturing process.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in computer skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
  • Experience working with diverse cultures and a varied workforce.
  • Positive attitude, forward thinking and patience.
  • Requires a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Solution focused and comfortable working in an environment which demands robust deliverables.

  • Lean Six Sigma Certification is an Asset.
  • ASQ Certification is an Asset.
  • Standard First Aid is an Asset.

Quality Control

  • Conduct process audits and assessments, including testing and evaluating products in a manufacturing setting.
  • Identify and maintain knowledge of conformance requirements.
  • Communicate day-to-day developments and product or process quality issues to Assistance Manager.
  • Partner with various departments as required to achieve quality objectives.
  • Understand and be able to communicate the steps needed to complete production assemblies.
  • Support process improvements.

Documentation

  • Write, revise, develop and maintain quality related work instructions, standard operating procedures, check sheets, Forms, etc.
  • Work with quality management to maintain reports and documentation as per certification and management system requirements.
  • Complete all required reports and documentation in an accurate and timely manner.

Quality Assurance

  • Communicate day-to-day developments to Assistant Manager while recommending solutions and suggestions for changes to conformance standards.
  • Conduct root cause investigations.
  • Maintain certification requirements of measuring devices, machines and product assemblies.
  • Proactively seek knowledge on all products and services.
  • Maintain good knowledge of customer concerns and how to respond to them.
  • Ensure timely resolutions, corrective actions and preventive actions.
  • Share knowledge, educate operators and assemblers on quality standard requirements.
  • Develop training to build quality awareness.
  • Ask open ended questions about product to determine their needs and identify the problem.
  • Continuously improve Quality product, processes and procedures.
  • Ensure accuracy and timely completeness in all projects.

Working conditions:

  • Lifting and/or carrying anywhere from 0llbs 75lbs..
  • Operate primarily in an office environment and manufacturing plant. Occasional site visits.
  • Use standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.
  • Flexible schedule, occasional weekend work.
  • Due to forklifts in the plant, temporary cracks may appear in the floor, causing uneven walking surface. Floor may become slippery during wet weather conditions.
  • The plant environment can be dusty and noisy. Doors are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes.
  • Passing forklifts emit gas fumes and chemicals may contain hazardous materials and emit unpleasant odours.
