We are actively recruiting for licensed Structures Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s (AME’s) from across Canadato join our HeavyAero teams in Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta.
Reporting to the Production Manager / Base Manager, the AME – S is responsible for the repair and certification of aircraft structures in accordance with the policy and procedures defined in both the HeavyAero Maintenance Policy Manual (MPM), the applicable Structures Manual.
Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the HeavyAero Safety Management System and Quality Assurance programs
- Lead and mentor junior team members, including planning and organizing works tasks
- Conduct structural maintenance on aircraft, including repairs using various materials such as metals, composites, and adhesives
- Restore or repair defects using specialized hardware and materials
- Perform corrosion control inspections and structural damage assessments to determine necessary repairs
- Handle sealing tasks, welding repairs, and metal treatment processes
- Disassemble, reassemble, and install parts to access and complete sheet metal repairs
- Fabricate and repair aircraft structures and components using a variety of materials and techniques
- Ensure the accurate and timely completion of technical records and regulatory reports
- Ensure all applicable equipment is properly maintained and facilities are clean, safe and appropriately equipped
- Provide mentorship and supervision of non-licensed personnel ensuring that critical knowledge and workmanship is transferred to them
- Lead by example and be a positive role model for others to follow
- Perform other related activities, as necessary or as assigned by management
- Respect and uphold all the Company policies, procedures & performance expectations
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of all related regulatory requirements and Safety Management Systems (SMS) & safe work practices
- Proven success working in unpredictable environments
- Post-Secondary education in recognised Aircraft Maintenance/Avionics Engineer Program
- Valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer ‘S’ License required
- Minimum one (1) year of experience working as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer in Avionics
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds
Additional Requirements:
- Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid work permit
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
Working Conditions:
- Work involves exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, humidity, darkness, and noise
- Work involves physical risks such as working around mechanical, chemical and electrical hazards which can be dangerous if not handled correctly
- Must be able to meet the physical tasks of the job (e.g. standing, walking, wearing a respirator, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting, working from heights & confined spaces etc.)
- Must be able to see, hear and effectively communicate with others
- Personal protective equipment, as defined by the Company, will be provided and must be worn
