Description

  • Serve as the Instructor Pilot Subject‑Matter Expert (SME) supporting the design of CAE’s Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) Civilian Qualified Flying Instructor (CQFI) training programs for thePilatus PC‑21andGrob 120TP.
  • Partner closely with CAE Qualified Flying Instructors (CQFIs) and work within theIntegrated Product Team (IPT)andTraining Development Team (TDT).
  • Review and advise on training program design, including module outlines, storyboards, and courseware, ensuring alignment with the RCAF Training Plan.
  • Contribute to the design of Flight Training Operations, Ground‑Based Training Systems (GBTS), and training devices.
  • Design and develop courseware through the full review cycle, including classroom, synthetic training device, and live flying training sequences.
  • Provide SME input for acceptance testing of courseware and synthetic training devices.
  • Support the creation of policy and procedure documents for the integrated training centre; collaborate with Air Operations (Dispatch) to develop operational policies.
  • Analyze and report on training needs and risks; support**Validation & Verification (V&V)**activities as an RCAF instructional expert.
  • Undertake aircraft familiarization training when available. -Work model: Remote anywhere in Canada, flexible work hours; expected to travel to Moose Jaw once or twice per quarter for workshops depending on program needs. -Important: This is anon‑flying role, focused heavily on courseware creation and storyboard review for the new FAcT courseware currently in development. -Role duration: Temporary 3–5 years, aligned with completion of courseware and full training system implementation.

##Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience as anInstructor Pilotwithin theRCAFor a comparable military training environment.
  • Strong experience withsynthetic training devicesand multimedia‑supported training.
  • Experience in curriculum design and/or training program management.
  • Familiarity with high‑performance, single‑engine turboprop trainers (e.g., Pilatus PC‑21, Grob 120TP).
  • Ability to obtain and maintainLevel I security clearance.
  • Post‑secondary education in a relevant field.
  • Minimum5 years of leadership experienceleading teams. -5–8 years of job‑related experiencewithin military flight operations.

##Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior involvement in GBTS design, training device design, and/or acceptance testing.
  • Experience contributing to policy and procedure development for flight operations and dispatch.
  • Experience building and leading a team (context: Flight Operations team of 11, including Flight Dispatchers, Training Schedulers, Training Administrator, Tracking System Analyst).
  • Interest in future mobility: candidates wishing to remain with CAE long‑term would eventually need to transition to a CQFI position in Moose Jaw.
