Position: Transportation Logistics Coordinator
ContainerWorld is a state-of-the-art forwarding, warehousing and distribution Company located in Richmond, British Columbia providing premier services for the beverage industry; with approximately 500 employees throughout its BC facilities. ContainerWorld is a subsidiary of Mullen Group publicly traded on TSX.
Hours**: Monday-Friday 8.00 am-4.30 pm**
Position overview**:** Working mainly independently with guidance from the Logistics and Supply Chain Manager as required, coordinates freight movements from docks/ CWFS to CWFS / other off-site warehouses in order to receive goods for clearance for the Provincial liquor boards, as well as the handling of all customs documentation for movement of freight. Is responsible for efficiency and effectiveness of own work and has considerable impact on efficient operations of own area and some other areas/departments. Most of the impact is short to mid-term.
Job Description:
- Monitors, traces and updates all ETA’s ETD’s related to ocean containers and truck shipments, adjusting delays as required and advising internal and external sources accordingly.
- Coordinates off dock trucking services for drayage, pre-pull, delivery of de-ramped/discharged containers and transfers to and between Canadian provinces in coordination with rail terminals, trucking companies.
- Compiles weekly reports with accurate information on inbound receiving and outbound forecast, and coordinates with receiving and shipping office for purpose of manpower and resource planning.
- Is fully knowledgeable on complete process of import customs clearance. Monitors and resolves clearances issues in coordination with the compliance team to ensure federal and provincial compliance
- Adhere to company standard KPIs. Also helps in minimizing equipment penalties and charges in coordination with department manager.
- Assists in maintaining/updating standard operation procedures (SOPs) in coordination with department manager.
Required Qualifications:
- Post secondary courses plus 2-3 years of related experience, or specialist certificate/diploma.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Some judgment exercised to choose from a limited range of established alternatives
- Problem solving using existing, clearly defined guidelines/procedures.
- Basic information must be known and considered
- Information often requires clarification, can be internal or external and may include basic direction, instruction or presentation to others
- Customs and dispatch knowledge and/or experience is preferred
- Familiarity with CBSA regulations & guidelines
