We are currently seeking an Intermediate Business Analyst to join our IT Application Services team to support the Asset Maintenance and Supply Chain business operations. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring our business applications continue to meet operational needs and evolve with organizational priorities. You collaborate with stakeholders across departments to analyze business needs, define system requirements, support solution delivery, and ensure overall application effectiveness.

The Role

Under the general direction of the Application Services Team Lead, you add value and are energized by key areas of oversight such as:

  • Analyzing business and user needs, document requirements and translate them into effective systems requirement specifications;
  • Defining systems scope and objectives based on business, stakeholder and solution requirements;
  • Supporting application teams in IT through solution design, development, and delivery—on time, on budget, and to specification;
  • Performing quality assurance as well as test plan and test case development and implementation;
  • Designing and delivering user training and documentation to support successful adoption of new solutions;
  • Resolving system integration, compatibility, and performance issues in accordance with BCFS Enterprise Architecture Office standards;
  • Applying accepted Business Analysis methodologies (e.g., BABOK) and best practices throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Providing internal consulting services to IT business customers and staff;
  • Offering guidance and informal training to team members as needed.

What you bring to the team

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Business, or a related IT discipline (or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience)
  • ITIL certification is considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of business processes and procedures to define business requirements and translate into IT requirements
  • Good working knowledge and experience with one or more industry accepted systems development life cycle methodology
  • Experience in asset maintenance and supply chain business processes is highly desirable
  • Working knowledge of business processing models
  • Thorough knowledge of QA and testing practices
  • Knowledge of generally accepted data modelling practices and processes (e.g. table normalization and performance considerations)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and planning skills
