About the role
We are hiring a Part-Time Barista for our Downtown cafés: Calgary Place and Stephen Avenue Place. These locations operate primarily Monday to Friday and are often closed on holidays (statutory or otherwise). The ideal candidate is dedicated to supporting their immediate team in Downtown locations, while also bringing a flexible, team-oriented mindset—someone willing to assist across the company as coverage support is needed.
If you enjoy being part of a great team, serving tasty coffee and food to grateful customers, and value opportunities for growth and career development, we would love to hear from you! Shifts: 4–5 hours on average, totaling 12–15 hours per week; longer shifts and additional hours may be available depending on candidate availability and coverage needs

Requirements: Availability during the above days and times is required
Preferred Start: Candidates available to begin on August 25th are preferred, and those available by September 8th are also welcomed.
We offer you:
- An unparalleled training program.
- Opportunities for growth and advancement within the company (we also roast coffee and buy directly from coffee farmers).
- Opportunity to work at multiple locations, within the company.
Please submit your resume, along with a cover letter describing 1- the most important things you look for in a cup of coffee/espresso, 2- what coffee culture means to you, and 3- how you would foster coffee culture in the work place. Resumes without cover letters will not be considered.
We look forward to welcoming passionate, hardworking team members who love coffee, people, and being part of a supportive team.
About Phil & Sebastian Coffee Roasters
We're a couple of guys who fell in love with coffee and decided to leave our cushy engineering jobs to open a cafe and roasterie in our hometown, Calgary, Canada. We now strive to push the bar of coffee higher every day.
Our dream of opening a café began in 2004. At that time, we were working as engineers and became home espresso aficionados. Through a combination of online searches, selective reading and a great deal of travel, we discovered that there was a special coffee world that did not exist in Calgary. It was only known to those few lucky ones who made the trip to these unique places.
We spent 2005 and 2006 traveling, visiting cafes and roasteries, meeting owners and picking their brains. Finally, in December of 2006, we were able to secure a spot at the Calgary Farmers' Market, and we opened our doors on March 30, 2007.
In 2009, we opened our roasterie. We currently travel each year to visit the producers in all 12 nations where we source our coffee. 100% of our coffee is directly purchased from quality focused farmers. We import the coffee in-season, and work with producers at origin to improve quality and consistency while focusing on environmental and social improvement in those communities.
Along with our talented team, we currently operate a full-time roasterie, five award-winning cafés and work with excellent wholesale partners across Canada and the United States.
