Our Collins Aerospace facility in Ottawa is a world leader in wireless communications networking, with products such as high-data-rate HF/VHF/UHF modems and the Self Configuring Relay Network (SCRN) for ad-hoc wireless networks. Collins Aerospace Canada is developing the next generation of HF radios that support significant throughput improvements and ad-hoc networking features, as well as developing Software Defined Radio networking waveforms for customers around the world. We are in need of enthusiastic team-players to join our team in Ottawa.
What You Will Do
- Assigns jurisdictional classification (JC) and define harmonized system (HS) codes as required for all tangible and intangible items.
- Performs all site based secure transfers for all technical data between internal customers and all external entities.
- Maintains applicable trade compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Establishes and maintains training and audit/assessment programs to ensure implementation and effectiveness of internal controls.
- Creates clear, concise engineering documentation. Will include user manuals, training materials, design documents, test procedures and technical reports.
- Conducts and documents Instrument Security and Global Trade Assessments. Creates procedures for clearing instruments as required.
- Establishes documentation management controls. Defines labeling and naming conventions for new and existing products as required.
- May assist with compliance and regulatory analysis tasks as required.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Canadian citizenship is required, successful candidate must be eligible to obtain a government of Canada secret level security clearance.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
Qualifications We Prefer
- Candidates have a working knowledge of the structure of pertinent export regulations (eg. Canadian Export Controls, EAR and ITAR).
- Candidates have a working knowledge of the structure of applicable customs regulations and HS tariff regulations.
- Experience with an ERP system such as SAP is preferred.
