As a Tax Reporting Analyst:

You will support Member-related tax reporting and compliance activities. This role is primarily responsible for the accurate preparation and distribution of tax receipts (e.g., T5s) to Members and the timely remittance of required information to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and other tax authorities.

The analyst will also assist in the preparation of corporate and sales tax returns, support technology integration for tax reporting systems, and act as a liaison with the CRA. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams to enhance operational efficiency and maintain robust internal controls.

What you will do:

  • Prepare and distribute tax receipts to Members (e.g. T5s) and remit required information to the CRA and other tax authorities.

  • Support the generation of ad hoc queries and monthly reporting for reconciliations and internal audits.

  • Collaborate with vendors to scope, test, and evaluate Member-related tax reporting technologies and tools.

  • Assist in drafting specification documents for internally developed tax reporting systems.

  • Troubleshoot macro issues related to the paperless Tax Campaign and support the digital transition of tax documentation.

  • Gather and reconcile income payment data and tax information from the Canadian Depository for Securities (CDS) and security issuers.

  • Pull, match, and validate tax reports from multiple internal and external sources.

  • Perform monthly reconciliations of control and suspense accounts, ensuring all monetary changes are accurate and justified.

  • Research general tax issues and provide insights to support compliance and operational improvements.

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and risk management frameworks, including AML/ATF and regulatory compliance.

  • Escalate potential losses or control issues in accordance with established procedures.

  • Assist the Senior Taxation Specialist on the completion of corporate, sales, and other tax returns

  • Perform miscellaneous duties and special projects as assigned.

How you will succeed:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in tax reporting, financial operations, or a related role within the financial services industry.

  • Experience working with Canadian and U.S. tax forms and CRA reporting requirements, along with a solid understanding of Canadian and U.S. tax regulations, including FATCA and CRS.

  • Previous experience with basic accounting principles and practices.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Familiarity with banking systems and year end tools.

  • Strong data reconciliation and reporting skills, with the ability to pull and match data from multiple sources.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Salary Range: CAD $47,000 - $69,000 annually

Compensation for this role is based on a combination of skills, experience, and internal equity. Candidates with stronger alignment to the role’s requirements may be placed higher within the range.
