Rates & Premiums
- Will be provided a base hourly rate of $25.00/hour
- Operators will be eligible to receive premiums starting at $5/hour, when performing winter maintenance operations
Work Conditions
- Must be located with in 30 minutes of the shop due to the location of the work
- As we respond to various weather patterns, on-call including night shift will be required.
- This is an on-call, weather dependent position with no guaranteed hours in a week.
- CLAC union position
Essential Responsibilities
- Operate snowplow trucks, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment as required
- Maintain Ontario Provincial Highways year-round, including assisting with Labourer duties (pothole repair, guardrail repair, bridge and signage cleaning, hazard remediation, etc.)
- Work outside in all weather conditions
Qualifications
- Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting50lbs on a regular basis, bending, kneeling, crouching etc.
- Valid AZ or DZ driver’s license with air endorsement
- Provide a copy of a 3-year commercial driver’s abstract
- Previous experience operating a snowplow truck and/or wheel loader is a strong asset
