Supervisor, Quality Control Inspection

About the role

Our Kingsville Distribution Center, a 150,000 sq. ft. refrigerated facility

operating 24/7, is currently seeking a Quality Control Inspector Supervisor to join our team. The essential function of this position is to maintain high quality standards in providing set-up, tear down, and on-going preventative maintenance services in all aspects of our greenhouse operation. This position will combine product knowledge with data analysis to develop Product Inspectors to ensure that all product meets customer specifications. 

Shift: Day Shift

Salary: $50,000

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all product meets or exceeds customer specifications.
  • Look at ways to reduce customer rejections and waste while increasing efficiency.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.
  • Monitor product traceability and work with CIC’s to eliminate product that doesn’t meet specifications.
  • Proactively finds solutions to product issues and establishes processes to prevent future issues.
  • Supervise Inventory Inspectors to ensure that all product inspections are being performed, labeling specification are adhered to, and non-conformance product is pulled and corrected.
  • Train, coach, and teach Inventory Inspectors about our product, product defects, product quality concerns, and customer expectations.

Education/Background Requirements

  • 4 Year College degree or 2 years of experience in a related field required.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Must sign a confidentiality agreement upon hire.
  • Must be a self-starter and willing to work flexible hours; Rotational shifts, weekends, holidays, etc.
  • Proficiency in use of English language with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
  • Highly proficient in computer-use skills (MS Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills. Need to be creative, adaptable and able to accurately work with a sense of urgency.
  • Spanish as a second language would be an asset.
  • Inspection/audit experiences, working in software applications are considered assets.

Working Conditions

  • Environment includes an expansive refrigerated warehouse, where the temperature averages a constant 55 degrees (except office areas). The background noise approaches 70 dcbs.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 30 lbs.
